We are writing you at a time after such a horrific tragedy has taken place, and we want to stop and thank our Lord for all of our blessings He has bestowed upon us. Some would think it would be hard to write a letter about our Generations campaign, but we must say that it gives us great pleasure to reassure you now more than ever before how focused we are on our vision. Our vision is for the next generations to be equipped and ready to reach others for Christ and His kingdom.
Let us reflect on this for a second. We have been through more than words could ever describe. God is revealing Himself all around us and giving us opportunities to be His soldiers. In Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” This is where we lean on His focus and His vision for our church.
We are blessed with Mission Joplin and how we can reach out to those hurt and affected by the tornado, but let us not forget those in other areas of our community that also need to be reached, loved on and guided on their path for Christ. Continue on your next “generations” path, and continue giving as God will have you give.
We are still on our next stage where we will develop a plan for the Carthage Campus. But with adjustments in the economy, job loss, and with fewer funds coming in for this offering, it is taking us a little longer than anticipated to build the Carthage Campus. But let us not lose focus. Let us continue leaning on God for His timing and not our own. We have had setbacks, but we are still on the correct path to reach those for Christ on our new campuses and our own community mission work. Again, we stress to you to “Trust in the Lord.”
We love you and your pure hearts to give to those in need, not only in Joplin but throughout other communities and the world.
