Well, we made it safely!

The flights were smooth and customs was crazy, but there were no problems entering Haiti. We were picked up by Pastor Paul (English Baptist Church of Delmas) and taken to our lodging for the trip. While it is a huge downgrade from our usual sleeping arrangements, I feel extremely blessed knowing that we are sleeping and eating better than most in Haiti.

Tuesday was our first workday. We went to the church and began to build upon a current wall. The church is trying to create a small play area for the kids (their old one is now three large tents that are used for school). As I came to find more than I imagined, since the earthquake many buildings, homes, schools, churches, etc. have been abandoned. Come and worship this Independence Day weekend at FP North! We have identical services at 5:30 and 7:00 pm on Saturday night and 9:30 and 11:00 am on Sunday morning. This is a great weekend to come celebrate the true freedom we have in Christ! See you this weekend.

Clean Up
We have lots to do at the North Campus today. If you have any time available come by, we need to clean, set up chairs, etc.

College Pool Party
We are hosting a pool party for the college students at the Towery’s today from 1-4:00 pm. Contact me or the Towery’s for more information or directions. College students, bring your friends and come have some fun, food, and a chance to win an iPod Touch!

A special thank you to all of you who helped with the neighborhood blitz this weekend. I am hearing great stories about contacts that were made! Open House/FP North Baby Shower - This Saturday, August 8 from 9:00 am-12:00 noon. Come check out the progress of the campus as well as drop off your items for the campus Nursery/Preschool/Children’s Ministry. We are registered at Toys R Us and Wal-Mart.
